SHTF: German Public to Build Own Bunkers
The country’s national draft emergency defense plan reportedly assigns construction roles for civilians.
According to article on RT, Germans will be expected to turn their homes and garages into bomb shelters in the event of a major war in Europe. The initial article on from newspaper Bild, reportedly cited a draft document from the Defense Ministry.
The report states that the ministry is set to complete work on a classified ‘Operational Plan’ by April this year. The draft imagines that Germany would be a “transit country” rather than an active frontline. Soldiers would be tasked with securing key highways, railway stations and ports for the delivery of weapons and equipment.
The government plans to have civilians perform duties that would typically be assigned to the military or police force. These duties would include the protection of power plants.
German only has 579 functional bomb shelters, so the plan reportedly is for citizens to setup shelters in places such as basements and garages. If you dont have access to garage, basement or a bunker then you are going to be S.O.L. Bild quoted the head of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance, Ralph Tiesler, as saying that building new shelters is “no longer feasible” due to time constraints.
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated this month that Russia could attack a NATO country “within five to eight years.” He later somewhat adjusted his assessment, telling Bild on Friday, “At the moment, I don’t see any danger of a Russian attack on NATO territory or on any NATO partner-country.”
There seem to be a lot of people recently who are talking about imminent attacks and war only to then backtrack it later on.
