Australian Ports Shutdown After Cyber Attack
DP World, a Dubai based company that operates port terminal services and cargo services in Australia and internationally, have restricted access to Australian port operations while they investigate a cyber attack.
Melbourne, Freemantle, Sydney & Brisbane ports are all affected by this action with national cyber-security coordinator Darren Goldie stating via X (Twitter) “Our priority is to assist DP World Australia to resolve the incident, so they are in a position to restore access to the ports they operate across the country”.
“This interruption is likely to continue for a number of days and will impact the movement of goods into and out of the country.”
The impact of this will be a hobbled supply chain which are still suffering from issues created during the COVID period.
The Australian Government is responding to a nationally significant cyber incident impacting a number of maritime port facilities operated by DP World Australia.
