Stupid Article Written By A Clear Gun Hater
Dumb Anti-Gun Article Repeating Nonsense Statistics & Opinions
In this article which is a bunch of nonsense for the most part the author doesn’t even try and hide their dislike of guns and complete lack of knowledge on the subject. They also for the most part cite statistics from left leaning gun hating statistic sources. The problem with statistics, especially with regards to guns is that it depends on the source as to what a “mass shooting” actually is. Some consider it 4 or more dead, some 4 or more injured, some 2 dead etc.

I have no idea why these people are allowed to publish this recycled nonsense on subjects they are so clearly biased about but let’s take a look shall we.
The reason mass shootings continue to occur is simple: there are more firearms than people in the US.
Misleading statistic really, the number of guns increased but the number of owners stays roughly the same throughout the years.
The number of households with guns has always stayed around the same number throughout the years – between 37% and 47% of homes have guns in them. Surprisingly, according to Statista, the highest number of homes with guns was 1990. When someone starts to get into shooting they tend to buy multiple guns as different guns are used for different purposes such as competition, self-defense, hunting, target shooting etc. This explains an increase in the number of guns but not the number of owners.
The more likely reasons that have created higher gun violence would be the increases in crime and mental health issues, in my opinion. The U.S. is a country more divided and intolerant than ever before with mental health being a major issue as well as all gang violence (and other “groups”).
We saw an increase in gun purchases during the pandemic, in 2020 and also in 2021. We saw that many people who did not have guns before acquired them, which means that more US households have guns compared to previous years
Mostly true, but I would imagine it has more to do with an all time low level of faith and trust in police, government and media as well as a massive rise in crime, especially in far left, “gun free” cities and areas. Gun free areas are commonly targeted by criminals as they know there is no one there to fire back at them.
The deadliest shooting of 2023 took place in October in Lewiston, Maine’s second-largest city, where an Army reservist killed 18 people and wounded 13 others when he opened fire first at a bowling alley where a children’s tournament was being held and then at a restaurant.
A gunman also claimed the lives of 11 people celebrating the Lunar New Year on January 21 at a dance hall in Monterey Park, a suburb of Los Angeles
Two days later, another shooting in Half Moon Bay, California, resulted in seven deaths.
In March, a transgender man walked into his former school in Nashville, Tennessee, and killed three nine-year-old children and three adults.
You get the picture, other examples were listed here as well.
What seems to be missing is the fact that Chicago in 2023 racked up a total of 644 homicides. Total homicides by gunshot: 575.
Want to break it down by race as well? Ok.
Black: 507; Asian: 111; Others: 26
Number of people police officers killed: 5
There’s some stats for you.
So, there are mass shootings in the USA, but they don’t come anywhere close to the number of killings caused by gangs (both gang bangers and innocents who happened to be in the way).
This is just Chicago, a city that has the toughest gun laws in America pretty much. Also happens to be democrat. Oddly that stat happens to come up a lot.
In 2022, the horrific massacre at the Uvalde school in Texas, where 19 students and two teachers lost their lives, led the US Congress to pass the most significant gun control legislation in three decades..
Whilst tragic, this was clearly a failure by the Uvalde police who hung around doing nothing for an hour before engaging the shooter, and the FBI who ignored the threat (again).
For many, however, the legislation does not adequately address a crucial element of the shootings: assault rifles, such as the AR-15, which are designed as weapons of war and allow a person to continue firing without stopping to reload.
Assault rifles are used in 3% of mass shootings. They are a small-caliber, semi-automatic (not fully automatic) weapon designed as home defense, hunting and target shooting in the civilian market. The full-auto version of the gun is limited to military and law enforcement for the most part, not the general public. Semi-automatic means that each bullet is a press of the trigger, not as the author is stating here that you can keep firing without stopping to “reload”. Which is a dumb statement in and of itself as most handguns and rifles can be or are semi-automatic, with the exception of bolt action or lever action.
The AR in AR-15 doesn’t stand for Assault Rifle regardless of what most people who know zero about weapons (such as this author) like to say; it actually stands for Armalite Rifles – the people who designed AR-15s.
What seems strange is that these same people who are crying over school shootings wont spend the money on strengthening school rooms or putting armed response staff in the schools. Because then how would they be able to call for gun control if shootings are reduced. A $50 door jamb on classroom doors would save more lives than any gun control politicians come up with.
In the 2016 and 2020 elections, the NRA supported Donald Trump, president between 2017 and 2021, and who starts as a favourite to become the Republican candidate and face Biden in 2024.
Yes, as have a number of previous Presidents including the darling of the left, John F Kennedy, who was also a lifetime member of the NRA.
